Job description

Overview

This position involves joining the pharmacy team within a Boots store to support pharmacists and healthcare professionals in delivering safe and effective pharmacy and health services. As a key team member, you will engage with patients by understanding their health needs, dispensing prescriptions accurately, and advising on medicines to help them make informed health choices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions safely, including tasks such as ordering medicines, labeling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare practitioners in the store to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively.
  • Provide patients with advice regarding medications and direct inquiries to the pharmacist when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure legal and safe dispensing.
  • Keep updated on operational processes and new store innovations.
  • Support patients in effectively managing their prescriptions and medications to promote adherence and reduce waste.
  • Utilize evolving in-store technologies to enhance dispensing processes, improving patient safety and allowing more patient interaction time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have completed NVQ2 Pharmacy Advisor qualification or equivalent, or be currently undertaking an MPharm degree with at least one year completed.
  • Must have current, valid UK work authorization; sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visa is not available for this role.
  • Previous community pharmacy experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Working Conditions and Location

This is an in-store role located in the United Kingdom; remote working is not an option. Candidates living outside the UK must provide relevant UK qualifications and right-to-work evidence.
