Job description
Role Overview
As a Dispenser at Boots UK, based in-store in Denbigh, Wales, you will play a pivotal role within the pharmacy team, aiding pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and safe dispensing of medication and related services. This position involves direct interaction with patients, providing healthcare advice, and delivering excellent customer care to promote health and wellness.
Key Duties
- Dispense prescriptions accurately while ensuring the safe and correct supply of medicines, including tasks such as ordering, labeling, dispensing, endorsing, and prescription collection.
- Collaborate with healthcare colleagues in-store to support and manage pharmacy services effectively.
- Offer informed advice to patients about their medications and refer complex queries to pharmacists.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to maintain compliance and patient safety.
- Stay updated with in-store innovations and operational procedures to enhance service delivery.
- Assist patients in managing their prescriptions and medications efficiently to encourage adherence and minimize waste.
Development and Technology
The role includes working with emerging technologies in the store, aiming to streamline traditional dispensing processes, increase patient safety, and allow more patient-focused time. Continuous training will be provided to expand your healthcare knowledge and career advancement opportunities such as training as a Pharmacy Technician or progressing into leadership roles.
Candidate Requirements
- Must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or an equivalent, or be currently pursuing an MPharm qualification with at least the first year completed.
- Possess a current and valid UK right to work status; note that the position does not offer Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
Preferred but not essential:
- Experience working in community pharmacy settings.
Additional Information
