Job description
Position Overview
As a Dispenser at our retail pharmacy, you will play a vital role on the pharmacy team, supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and safe delivery of pharmacy services. This on-site role involves engaging with patients, managing prescription dispensing, and offering healthcare advice to help customers make informed health decisions.
Key Duties
- Accurately dispense prescriptions while safely managing medicine supply including ordering, labelling, endorsing, and prescription collection.
- Collaborate with healthcare colleagues in the store to facilitate the management and execution of pharmacy services.
- Advise patients on medicine usage and direct complex queries to the pharmacist.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safe and legal dispensing.
- Stay informed about store innovations and follow operational protocols.
- Assist patients in managing prescriptions, promoting medication adherence, and reducing waste.
- Utilize advanced store technologies aimed at enhancing dispensing processes to improve patient safety and increase time available for patient interaction.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or equivalent, or currently pursuing MPharm with first year completed.
- Valid UK right to work documentation; no Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship available.
- Community pharmacy experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
