Role Overview

As a Dispenser at Bolt Pharmacy, you will play a crucial role in transforming prescriptions into trusted, accurate treatments for patients nationwide. Your responsibilities include selecting, labelling, and securely packaging medicines, maintaining strict quality controls, and collaborating closely with pharmacists and other pharmacy staff. This full-time position operates onsite at the Blackburn facility with varied shift patterns during business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently process and securely pack over 30 orders per hour, maintaining precision and compliance.
  • Ensure protective measures such as cold-chain integrity and proper storage conditions by monitoring temperatures and reporting deviations.
  • Manage stock by verifying deliveries, maintaining storage practices, supporting inventory control, and participating in stock counts.
  • Contribute to a high-quality environment by documenting errors and near misses promptly, ensuring hygiene, following safety protocols, and proposing operational improvements.
  • Support and mentor trainee dispensers while assisting cross-functional teams with patient queries and order management.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid dispensing qualification, such as Buttercups certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced dispensing environment, consistently handling 30+ orders per hour with safety and accuracy.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in medicine selection, labelling, and prescription fulfillment.
  • Strong ownership and responsibility within your qualifications, with ability to follow SOPs and engage pharmacists when needed.
  • Professionalism demonstrated by reliability, punctuality, and dedication to patient safety and regulatory standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience as a qualified dispenser.
  • Familiarity with demands of online pharmacy dispensing and shipping.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and clearly communicating procedural information.
  • Competence in stock management, including rotation and inventory replenishment.
  • Capable of managing healthcare-related patient interactions professionally and clearly.
  • Understanding of General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards and their practical applications.

Our Culture and Values

  • Deep commitment to serving patients and advancing our transformational healthcare mission.
  • Uncompromising integrity and ethical conduct in a fast-evolving environment.
  • High standards aiming for excellence and continual improvement, rejecting mediocrity.
  • Clear, honest communication and candid feedback.
  • A relentless sense of urgency and dedication to swift, high-quality execution.
  • Frugality and resourcefulness, maximizing value and minimizing waste.
  • Perseverance to overcome challenges through creativity and determination.
  • Focused, disciplined work ethic prioritizing meaningful long-term outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Training period earning £13 per hour until qualification and sign-off completion.
  • Post-qualification role compensation of £15 per hour, inclusive of equity participation.
  • Personal development allowance of £400 annually for books, courses, and coaching.
  • Wellness budget of £400 annually for gym memberships and health-related apps.
  • Free GLP-1 clinic membership, if clinically appropriate.
  • Access to biweekly health and work coaching sessions at no cost.
