Job description

Role Overview

As a Dispenser within a Boots UK store, you will play a crucial role supporting pharmacists and healthcare staff to ensure safe, efficient pharmacy and healthcare services. You will build meaningful relationships with patients by understanding their health needs and offer expert advice to guide their wellbeing decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispensing prescriptions while ensuring the safe supply of medicines including ordering, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals in-store to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively.
  • Offerl care and guidance on medicines, referring complex questions to the pharmacist when necessary.
  • Adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to guarantee the safe and legal fulfilment of prescriptions.
  • Keeping informed on new in-store innovations and operational practices.
  • Helping patients manage prescriptions through reliable repeat ordering while promoting medication adherence and minimizing waste.

Training and Development

You will engage with evolving technologies that streamline dispensing processes, enhancing patient safety and freeing your time to focus more on patients. Regular training updates and career advancement opportunities are available, including progression towards a Pharmacy Technician qualification or leadership roles within the store.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of a Pharmacy Advisor qualification (NVQ2 or equivalent) or currently pursuing an MPharm degree with completion of at least the first year.
  • Valid right to work in the UK is mandatory as no sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visas will be granted.

Desirable experience includes prior work in community pharmacy settings.

Compensation

The position offers an hourly wage starting from £13.92 and can reach up to £16.64 in select London locations.
