About the Role

We are looking for a Civil CAD Drafter to generate detailed civil drawings for our Engineering & Consulting team. This role involves transforming engineers' markups, survey data, and design ideas into well-organized, coordinated drawings spanning civil, structural, and architectural elements. All work is subject to review and approval by the responsible engineer before release. Strong discipline in file and revision management along with clear written communication for clarifications is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Create civil, structural, and architectural drawings using sketches, mark-ups, photos, and survey information.
• Develop various plans including general arrangement, sections, elevations, foundations, reinforcements, site grading, drainage, and external works.
• Prepare accurate as-built drawings from site measurements supplied by staff.
• Maintain and apply drawing standards consistently with title blocks, layering, line weights, annotations, and numbering.
• Coordinate and verify drawings against other disciplines to detect clashes or missing data before issuing.
• Submit written queries to engineers for any unclear instructions rather than making assumptions.
• Keep drawing registers and issue sheets updated alongside Document Controllers.
• Implement strict revision control protocols: archive outdated drawings, mark superseded versions clearly, and provide deliverables in agreed formats including native and PDF files.
• Ensure all external references and blocks are properly bound and included in each issue.
• Organize, backup, and maintain working files for department access.
• Confirm work scope, priorities, and deadlines before starting tasks and regularly report progress, highlighting any delays promptly.
• Remain available during overlapping Saudi working hours for same-day clarifications.
• Incorporate review feedback quickly and confirm resolution of comments.
• Perform additional duties as requested by the Head of Engineering that align with this role’s responsibilities.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Technical: Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD 2D for drafting, ability to produce civil, structural, and architectural drawings to consistent standards, and interpret designs from mark-ups, specs, and survey data with minimal supervision.
• Experience in revision control, drawing numbering, layering conventions, and output preparation including sheet setup and plot-ready PDF packages.
• Working knowledge of Revit/BIM is advantageous.
• Personal Attributes: High accuracy in dimensions and annotations, strong self-management to meet deadlines with limited supervision, clear written communication for queries and updates, reliability during agreed hours, and openness to constructive feedback.

Experience and Education

• 3 to 6 years of CAD drafting experience on building, infrastructure, or fit-out projects.
• Experience gained within contracting, construction, engineering consultancy, or facility management sectors is required.
• Proven track record in producing full civil and structural drawing sets including reinforcement detailing.
• Experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or diploma in civil or architectural drafting is mandatory.
