Position Overview
Based in Austin, TX, this full-time dishwasher role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen operations to ensure excellent guest experiences.
Primary Duties
- Prepare workstations including the dishwashing machine and server dump area.
- Set up and maintain the three-sink cleaning area and ensure mop buckets and mops are sanitary.
- Ensure an adequate supply of clean bus tubs for bussers and restock cleaning agents and equipment while informing the Kitchen Manager of shortages.
- Clean all dishes, utensils, and equipment thoroughly, organize silverware and dishes for bussers, and return kitchenware to proper storage areas.
- Maintain cleanliness by washing and replacing bus tubs, spraying and cleaning the dishwasher after use, and turning off the dishwasher.
- Prepare bleach water for mopping kitchen and cold storage walk-in areas, mop these spaces, and sanitize all drains.
- Clean and store mops and buckets appropriately after use.
Candidate Requirements
- Familiarity with safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently within a team.
- Composure and effectiveness under pressure, strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and sound organization.
- Commitment to quality service and basic food and beverage knowledge.
- Availability to work evening shifts, weekends, and some holidays.
Physical and ADA Considerations
- Must have the ability to communicate verbally and hear clearly.
- Good vision including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception with ability to adjust focus.
- Capable of standing for extended periods (up to 8 hours) and frequently walking.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and regularly lift up to 35 pounds, occasionally handling up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for handling kitchen tools and equipment continually.
- Work schedule includes evenings, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
- Environment involves exposure to temperature variations and moderate to loud noise levels.
