Job Summary

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen equipment, and work areas in a clean and sanitary condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrape and rinse food residue from dishes, washing them by hand or using dishwashing equipment to ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Clean pots, pans, and trays according to established procedures.
• Polish silverware using appropriate tools such as burnishing machines, chemical dips, buffing wheels, or hand cloths to maintain cleanliness.
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain proper temperatures and chemical levels per standards.
• Keep dishwashing area organized and compliant with safety protocols.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors to uphold sanitation and safety standards.
• Clean worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
• Remove trash properly, steam clean or hose garbage cans.
• Transport supplies and equipment between storage and work locations.
• Assist in loading and unloading supplies and products as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Work Schedule and Location

This is a full-time role at Avon Old Farms School, 500 Old Farms Road, Avon, CT 06001. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM, with additional details provided during interviews.

Requirements

• Previous experience in dishwashing or a similar role is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay ranging from $18.00 to $19.00.
