Role Summary
The position of General Utility / Dishwasher involves maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment. In addition to washing duties, this role includes supporting food preparation and cross-training across kitchen departments to build versatile skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Removing and pre-rinsing food residues from dirty dishes, then loading them into the dishwashing machine (approximately 50% of tasks).
- Hand and machine washing pots, pans, and trays (around 15%).
- Completing assigned food preparation tasks (10%).
- Transporting trash and refuse to dumpster areas (10%).
- Cleaning work surfaces, walls, refrigeration units, cooking equipment, and flooring (5%).
- Sanitizing garbage bins and waste receptacles (5%).
- Setting up, maintaining, and dismantling dishwashing machines (5%).
Qualification and Physical Requirements
- Demonstrates a genuine willingness to serve others, grow professionally, and learn new skills.
- Maintains a positive and cooperative attitude.
- Capable of transporting cases weighing up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day.
- Able to place items such as plates, utensils, and pans on racks located at various heights.
- Works predominantly indoors (90%) with occasional outdoor duties (10%).
- Comfortable performing duties in warm and humid environments.
- Capable of responding effectively to emergencies to protect self and others.
- Physical ability includes moving up to 25 pounds, bending, stooping, and the vision necessary to ensure cleanliness and operate touchscreen devices.
