About the Role
The Directs Store Delivery Associate position at Walmart Canada offers an excellent chance to develop key skills within a fast-moving retail setting. The primary responsibility is to coordinate and promptly manage direct and local merchandise, ensuring it reaches the sales floor on schedule to enhance customers' shopping experiences. Maintaining the merchandise flow is critical to fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty, making this role essential for those interested in customer service or retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure valuable merchandise by placing it in designated locations following company protocols.
- Efficiently receive and process various deliveries including local shipments, OMNI merchandise, alcohol, and warehouse trailers to keep product movement streamlined.
- Organize the receiving area by preparing returns, claims, and merchandise transfer requests for shipment and maintain accurate documentation.
- Adhere to and promote safety procedures such as proper lifting and the safe operation of equipment like box cutters, pallet jacks, and ladders.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and Office Support Associate to promptly resolve any receiving discrepancies or issues.
- Manage security by controlling backdoor access and key usage in line with company standards.
- Maintain product quality by following cold chain procedures and documenting temperature compliance using the Receiving Temperature Log or Sure Check App.
- Assist in training fellow Directs Store Delivery Associates to ensure standardized receiving processes.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Challenges in the Role
- Manage high volumes of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, by planning work hours to sustain energy and focus.
- Perform physically demanding activities such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items up to 50 lbs, along with repetitive stocking and organizing tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

Compensation
The starting wage for this role is $16.95 per hour.
