Director – Technology Platforms & Operations

Overview

This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and managing Aldar's shared technology backbone, overseeing the design, evolution, and delivery of core platforms, infrastructure, and operational services. The aim is to maintain a secure, scalable, and cost-effective technology foundation that supports business growth, digital transformation, and innovation across the organization and all its subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the vision and strategic roadmap for all group-wide technology and digital platforms including cloud, data, AI, integration, automation, and digital identity, ensuring scalable, reusable, secure, and sustainable designs that encourage enterprise-wide adoption.
• Drive the group's cloud strategy and landing zone architecture while overseeing data analytics platforms and establishing AI-ready infrastructure such as data pipelines, MLOps, and emerging AI technologies.
• Manage enterprise integration and API platforms along with automation solutions including RPA, workflow, and event-driven platforms; lead customer and digital identity platform management.
• Ensure seamless IT operations including infrastructure, application support, and end-user services with a focus on high availability, reliability, operational excellence, and modernization initiatives.
• Handle financial aspects of platform and operations including budgeting and governance of cloud expenditures; manage relationships with key vendors and managed service providers.
• Collaborate with Information Security to manage risks and compliance; align platforms with group architecture standards; oversee technical debt and lifecycles.
• Recruit, lead, and inspire high-performing platform and operations teams; cultivate leadership within the teams and promote a culture of accountability, trustworthiness, and innovation.

Clarifications

This role is not focused solely on infrastructure maintenance or solution delivery, but emphasizes innovation in platforms and AI readiness across the entire group and its subsidiaries.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 15 years in senior technology leadership roles within large and complex enterprises.
• At least 6 years’ experience in managerial positions related to the field.
• Proven expertise managing enterprise-scale technology platforms, cloud environments and operations, data platforms, integration, and contemporary engineering methodologies.
• Experience in directing large vendors and managed service providers.
• A systemic thinker with strong execution skills, balancing rigor and innovation; able to operate calmly under pressure and engage effectively with senior leaders across diverse subsidiaries.
• Bachelor's degree is mandatory; advanced degree such as a Master's is preferred.
