About the Role
As the Director - Technology, you will join APNIC's executive team to drive the strategic vision and operational management of technology that supports the Asia Pacific's Internet infrastructure. This leadership role requires being based or relocating to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. You will oversee the technology, security, product development, and information capabilities serving thousands of members and stakeholders throughout the region.
Key Duties
- Develop and steer APNIC’s overall technology strategy and roadmap ensuring platforms remain secure, scalable, resilient, and innovative.
- Lead modernization efforts, investment planning, and manage technical risks and legacy systems.
- Provide strategic guidance for product development impacting member, registry, and information services, encouraging modern engineering and innovation.
- Implement enterprise-wide governance for data and information management, fostering data quality, accessibility, stewardship, and business intelligence.
- Take executive responsibility for cybersecurity and information security governance, aligning with ISO 27001 standards, embedding security and privacy from the design stage.
- Represent APNIC in regional and global technical forums, collaborating with Internet industry stakeholders and partners.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 15 years of senior leadership experience in technology roles involving architecture, infrastructure, software engineering, security, DevOps, and data management.
- Demonstrated success in crafting and delivering enterprise technology and information strategies.
- Thorough knowledge of cloud platforms, cybersecurity practices, governance frameworks, and contemporary product delivery methodologies.
- Exceptional skills in stakeholder communication and engagement.
- Ability to interpret complex technical challenges into actionable business solutions.
- Experience in Internet technologies such as IP addressing, routing, IPv6, telecommunications, or Internet infrastructure is highly valued.
