About the Role and Organization
Nova Scotia Power's greatest asset has always been its people, operating across the province to deliver safe and dependable electricity. The company is seeking a visionary HR leader for the position of Director, Talent & Workforce Strategy, who will integrate workforce planning, talent acquisition, leadership development, succession, diversity, equity and inclusion, and organizational effectiveness. This role reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources and offers significant influence during a transformative period for the company.
Key Responsibilities
The Director will develop and implement a future-oriented workforce strategy aligned with Nova Scotia Power’s business goals. This includes collaborating with senior leaders and corporate HR to forecast workforce and skill requirements, enhancing talent pipelines and succession planning, and facilitating employee development and reskilling aligned with evolving roles and technologies. The role leverages workforce analytics and market insights to design actionable strategies and fosters partnerships with educational bodies, industry groups, and talent networks.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate is a strategic HR leader with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HR or talent management, particularly in driving enterprise-level talent and workforce projects and working alongside executive teams. Academic credentials include a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related discipline. Additional credentials such as a CPHR designation and change management certification are advantageous.
