Director, Solutioning Software Platform Development

Overview

Dematic is developing an advanced Solutioning Suite designed to enable project teams to design, engineer, and manage tailored customer solutions efficiently and with high quality. The Director, Solutioning Software Platform Development, will lead a diverse, high-achieving team responsible for creating and maintaining innovative software tools and the relevant data architectures that underpin the solutioning ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary group including software developers, UX professionals, tools application developers, enterprise data architects, ontology experts, and deployment/testing specialists.
• Establish and implement the operational framework, engineering standards, and delivery methodologies needed for building scalable, secure, maintainable, and user-centric applications and data capabilities.
• Encourage adoption of contemporary software development methods such as agile planning, quality code practices, automation, testing, DevOps-centric releases, and comprehensive lifecycle management.
• Integrate AI functionality strategically to boost productivity, enhance user experience, and increase engineering efficiency within the tools portfolio.
• Collaborate with program managers, application leaders, business stakeholders, and technical experts to convert strategic goals into actionable roadmaps, staffing strategies, delivery targets, and measurable results.
• Foster collaboration across software engineering, UX design, application development, data architecture, and deployment/testing to ensure cohesive, production-ready solutions.
• Cultivate a high-performance team culture through coaching, talent development, clear role definition, recruitment assistance, and continuous process improvements.
• Deliver transparent updates on status, risks, resources, and capabilities to leadership while resolving obstacles and maintaining alignment with enterprise architecture, governance, and security policies.

Required Expertise and Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary software or digital product teams encompassing engineering, UX, application development, and deployment.
• In-depth knowledge of modern software development best practices, including agile methodologies, architectural collaboration, testing, release processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proven capacity to develop high-performing teams through effective coaching, organizational design, and leadership within complex, matrixed environments.
• Experience bridging software, data, and UX disciplines with an understanding of enterprise data architecture, semantic/ontology frameworks, and production deployment challenges.
• Practical ability to identify and responsibly implement AI-driven enhancements to increase team output, product functionality, and user satisfaction.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills coupled with sound decision-making capacity to align technical strategies with business needs and enterprise frameworks.
