Job description
Overview
We are partnering with a prominent real estate developer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to recruit a Director for the Procurement & Contracts Division. This executive role demands leadership over procurement, tendering, contract management, and commercial governance across diverse developments such as high-rise residential towers, luxury resorts, mixed-use complexes, upscale communities, and expansive master-planned projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all procurement and contract activities within the division, ensuring seamless operations from sourcing to contract governance.
- Design and execute procurement and contracting strategies aligned with corporate goals and project demands.
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes involving vendor qualification, request for proposals, bid assessments, negotiation, and contract finalization.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations for significant construction, consulting, hospitality, and infrastructure contracts.
- Ensure contract administration complies with regulations, mitigates risks, and effectively handles change control.
- Develop procurement policies and governance standards that conform to global best practices.
- Champion initiatives focused on value engineering, cost savings, and optimizing procurement across projects.
- Foster and sustain strategic partnerships with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and essential stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with teams in Development, Design, Project Management, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership.
- Lead and cultivate a skilled procurement and contracts team through mentorship and development.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Advanced qualifications such as a master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., MRICS, MCIPS, PMP) are highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in procurement, contracts, commercial management, or quantity surveying.
- Demonstrable leadership overseeing procurement and contract functions within major real estate developers, master developers, or development authorities.
- Comprehensive experience managing projects including high-rise residential buildings, luxury hotels, mixed-use developments, and large-scale master-planned communities.
- Deep expertise in construction procurement, contract administration, and commercial governance.
- Sound knowledge of FIDIC contracts as well as procurement best practices and governance frameworks.
- Proven capability managing sizeable procurement budgets and navigating intricate commercial negotiations.
- Exceptional leadership abilities, stakeholder engagement skills, and a track record in team leadership and development.
