About Prophix and the Role
Prophix helps financial teams in over 100 countries replace manual tasks with intelligent planning, reporting, and automation. The Director of Solution Engineering for EMEA will lead the team that interfaces directly with customers to understand their challenges and demonstrate how Prophix One meets their needs. This leadership position is influential regionally and involves collaboration with multiple departments to deliver customer value and drive growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and nurture a high-performing team of Solution Engineers across Europe, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and customer focus. Recruit, mentor, and retain talent capable of guiding finance leaders effectively.
- Drive regional revenue growth by ensuring the team's activities align with commercial priorities, collaborating closely with Sales, Customer Sales, and Channel Alliances.
- Participate personally in high-stakes strategic engagements involving CFOs and senior finance executives, demonstrating technical expertise and commercial insight.
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Professional Services teams to align promises made during pre-sales with actual delivery and incorporate customer feedback into product and sales strategies.
- Create and implement standardized approaches and resources for discovery, demonstration, and value proof to enhance team consistency and scalability.
- Monitor market trends in corporate performance management, competitive activity, and customer needs in Europe and communicate insights to influence product development and go-to-market plans.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years in Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, or presales consulting, including at least 2 years managing or mentoring a presales team.
- Experience building or scaling presales functions in B2B SaaS, especially in enterprise or mid-market software sales.
- Expertise in deal qualification and demonstration best practices, with the ability to train others in their consistent application.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging stakeholders from junior levels to senior executives.
- Full professional proficiency in English (C2 level).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or related discipline, or comparable practical experience.
- Authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
- Comfortable and responsible use of AI tools for research, drafting, and data analysis.
- Adaptable to new technologies and workflows.
- Curious and open-minded with a motivation to improve continuously.
- Collaborative team player, including working effectively with AI-supported tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background or knowledge in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidations, reporting, EPM/CPM, FP&A, or financial systems.
- Experience with Financial Consolidation, Tax Reporting, ESG standards, or regulatory compliance frameworks such as XBRL or ESEF.
- Proficiency in additional European languages to enhance engagement across diverse markets.
- Familiarity with major CPM or ERP platforms like Prophix, Anaplan, Vena, Planful, or OneStream.
- Experience contributing to scaling a SaaS business or establishing presales capabilities from the ground up.
Success Milestones
- Within 30 days: Become familiar with the platform, customers, and team dynamics, completing onboarding and contributing actively.
- Within 90 days: Operate independently, manage deliverables fully, and build cross-functional and regional relationships.
- Within 6 months: Deliver meaningful improvements, contribute to processes or projects, and influence key decisions.
