Overview
The Director of Construction Management is accountable for directing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale construction initiatives. This role demands ensuring projects are completed safely, adhere to timelines, stay within financial plans, and fulfill quality criteria. The position involves supervising contractors, consultants, and project teams while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and enforcing robust project governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead construction management activities across diverse projects and operational streams.
- Design and apply strategies, methodologies, and plans for construction execution.
- Supervise project timelines, budgets, quality controls, and risk management efforts.
- Oversee and evaluate performance of contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Approve construction methods, progress documentation, and change requests.
- Collaborate with design, development, procurement, and operations teams to maintain project coherence.
- Identify and mitigate project risks to minimize delivery disruption.
- Engage with internal teams, government bodies, contractors, and executives for stakeholder management.
- Promote continuous development and best practices in construction management.
- Generate executive-level reports and presentations concerning project progress, risks, and strategic decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related fields.
- Between 12 to 15 years of experience in construction and project delivery, including at least 5 years in leadership positions.
- Proven background in managing large-scale mixed-use, infrastructure, real estate, or mega-development projects.
- Deep understanding of construction contracts, project controls, scheduling, and cost management.
- Knowledgeable about international construction standards and industry best practices.
