Position Overview

Quantum Management Services Ltd. is partnering with a prominent healthcare organization based in Markham, Ontario to recruit a Director of Compensation. This permanent role calls for a strategic leader to develop and oversee comprehensive compensation frameworks, salary structures, and pay programs across the enterprise. Reporting to the VP of Total Rewards, this newly established position requires partnering with senior leadership to shape compensation strategies and lead a dynamic team amid organizational growth and transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the organization's compensation strategy, programs, and policies.
  • Create and implement salary structures, pay bands, and job architecture models.
  • Conduct market benchmarking, job evaluations, and complex compensation data analysis.
  • Lead annual compensation cycles, including salary adjustments and incentive scheme planning.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, and executive leadership to provide strategic counsel on compensation matters.
  • Support labor relations by preparing compensation cost analyses relevant to collective bargaining agreements.
  • Utilize Workday and related technologies to enhance efficiency in compensation processes and reporting.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop the compensation team to foster continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in compensation, with leadership track record.
  • Demonstrated expertise in devising compensation strategies, salary frameworks, and pay band systems.
  • Experience working with large, complex organizations, preferably in healthcare or regulated sectors.
  • Deep understanding of compensation governance, job evaluation methodologies, market pricing, and pay equity principles.
  • Familiarity with unionized workplace challenges and collective bargaining impact on compensation.
  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) credential is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary range between $150,000 and $160,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility.
