About the Role
Are you passionate about outdoor activities and ready to embark on an international career journey? We are collaborating with a distinguished outdoor and performance apparel brand to appoint a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Director who will lead retail, ecommerce, and merchandising operations globally. Located at the Southern Hemisphere headquarters, this executive role reports directly to the CEO and is a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
- Drive comprehensive DTC growth encompassing retail store performance, ecommerce conversion rates, and customer repeat purchases across Oceania, Europe, and North America.
- Develop and implement the global retail store network strategy, including entry into new markets, store format decisions, and investment planning.
- Take direct responsibility for product assortment, range planning, and merchandising tailored to each regional market.
- Maintain rigorous full-price sales discipline and sell-through rates to uphold brand value while achieving commercial goals.
- Create synergy between DTC and Wholesale channels to establish a unified and efficient commercial framework.
- Lead and mentor teams in Retail, Ecommerce, and Merchandising with a proactive, action-oriented leadership style.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated success in expanding profitable retail and ecommerce businesses across international markets.
- Extensive practical expertise in merchandising, assortment planning, and range management within the apparel sector.
- Specialized experience in premium apparel categories such as sports, outdoor, or performance wear.
- Capability to operate effectively across multiple global regions and time zones, including Oceania, Europe, and North America.
- Authentic passion for outdoor activities and willingness to relocate to enable this position.
- Strong commercial acumen with full profit and loss accountability, comfortable making strategic decisions amid high-pressure scenarios.
- Self-motivated with a decisive, hands-on approach and attention to detail.
Compensation
A competitive base salary will be offered, aligned with experience, complemented by performance-linked incentives fitting the seniority of this executive position.
