Role Overview
The Digitalization / BIM Specialist (also titled CAD Draftsman) plays a vital role in creating, maintaining, and administering digital engineering models, CAD drawings, and BIM outputs throughout project durations. This position backs the company's digital transformation goals by applying BIM protocols, generating precise technical documents, managing project-related data, and facilitating smooth stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain BIM models using recognized industry software, ensuring strict adherence to BIM Execution Plans, organizational norms, and project demands.
- Conduct model amalgamation, clash detection, and coordination assessments.
- Facilitate cross-disciplinary synchronization among architecture, structural, MEP, and survey teams.
- Create BIM outputs such as 3D models, project schedules, quantity estimations, and detailed reports.
- Implement effective BIM workflows, protocols, and digital construction strategies.
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings including layouts, plans, and construction details derived from sketches, survey data, and engineering designs.
- Manage document registers, drawing revisions, and maintain rigorous document control.
- Generate shop drawings, as-built documentation, and construction-related records, ensuring all comply with project criteria and standards.
- Support organizational digital transformation by managing digital asset databases and document management systems.
- Integrate data from surveys, GIS, laser scanning, and reality capture technologies into BIM platforms.
- Assist with the adoption of Common Data Environment (CDE) solutions.
- Engage in workflow automation and process enhancement initiatives.
- Maintain data accuracy, version control, and compliance with information security standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, and contractors, providing BIM and CAD technical support throughout project lifecycles.
- Attend technical meetings and oversee timely tracking and submission of project deliverables.
- Assist in quantity take-offs, project visualization, and preparation of related progress reports.
- Verify that all models and drawings meet applicable industry standards, company policies, ISO requirements, and project-specific rules.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on drawings and models and preserve detailed documentation and audit records.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Geomatics, Survey Engineering, Construction Management, or an allied field.
- Have 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in BIM modeling, CAD drafting, digital engineering, or construction technology.
- Prior experience within engineering, infrastructure, surveying, construction, or consultancy sectors is preferred.

Bachelor's Degree
