Digital Solution Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Solution Engineer to support rapidly expanding AI-focused startups and software companies in optimizing and scaling their operations on Microsoft Azure. This role involves building customer confidence in technical decisions by linking their products and business goals to effective cloud, AI, data, and application architectures, demonstrated through demos, workshops, pilots, and production-readiness strategies.

The role requires collaboration with account teams, specialists, partners, customer success, and engineering groups to remove obstacles, drive adoption, and translate customer ambitions into tangible Azure usage, revenue growth, and long-term platform commitment. The candidate needs a balance of deep technical expertise and commercial insight, influencing senior technical leaders by addressing risks, creating repeatable solutions, and advancing opportunities regionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive technical strategy for assigned customers across the entire adoption lifecycle—from discovery, through technical validation, to deployment and scale.
• Lead architecture-focused discussions on Azure AI, application innovation, data platforms, developer tools, cloud operations, security, and governance.
• Architect comprehensive solutions leveraging Azure services such as AI Foundry, OpenAI, AI agents, Kubernetes Service, containers, serverless computing, APIs, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Power BI, and GitHub.
• Conduct demonstrations, whiteboarding, workshops, proofs of concept, and validations that clearly show business value and production readiness.
• Translate customer objectives, priorities, and technical complexities into actionable decision criteria, success plans, and measurable results.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges including architectural gaps, security issues, capacity constraints, migration risks, and operational readiness.
• Partner closely with account executives, specialists, and customer success teams to support pipeline creation, opportunity progression, technical wins, and forecasting accuracy.
• Differentiate Azure by emphasizing its trusted, scalable, secure, and integrated platform attributes to AI-centric software companies.
• Document reusable patterns, lessons learned, and customer insights to enable scalable global business growth.

Customer Scenarios Supported

• AI-native application development including agents, copilots, RAG, model evaluation, responsible AI, inference optimization, and AI operations.
• Scaling cloud-native platforms involving infrastructure growth, reliability, networking, observability, and global capacity management.
• Modernizing data environments through migration, analytics, AI readiness, governance, cataloging, and integration.
• Supporting SMB and software company growth with SaaS architectures, multi-tenant platforms, marketplace readiness, co-selling, developer productivity, and product-led growth.
• Driving technical acceleration via workshops, hackathons, migration programs, partner scaling motions, and repeatable delivery frameworks.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, cloud architecture, software engineering, or similar customer-engagement technical roles.
• Proven ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders such as CTOs, founders, architects, and product leaders.
• Practical knowledge of cloud architecture and modern application design addressing security, scalability, reliability, integration, and operations.
• Hands-on experience with AI, data analytics, application modernization, or developer platforms on Azure or equivalent clouds.
• Experience creating demos, prototypes, POCs, or pilots that facilitate technical decisions and production deployments.
• Strong communication, storytelling, and collaboration skills, with the ability to build consensus organically.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, agentic systems, RAG, Kubernetes, containers, serverless, APIs, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Power BI, or GitHub.
• Experience supporting startups, SMBs, SaaS, marketplaces, venture-backed, or product-led growth companies.
• Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI, security, compliance, model evaluation, observability, cost management, and FinOps.
• Capability to assist complex technical sales across diverse territories, stakeholders, and evolving customer priorities.
• Experience in competitive positioning and objection handling within AI, cloud, data, or developer tool markets.
• Mandarin fluency is an advantage but not required.
