Role Overview
The position of Digital Printing Operator is a full-time role located on-site in the Surry Hills area. Responsibilities include configuring and running digital printing machinery to produce printed materials that meet specific job requirements. Daily duties encompass preparing files for print, managing paper and ink supplies, conducting routine maintenance of printers, and overseeing finishing processes such as trimming, folding, and binding. The operator will verify print proofs and perform continuous quality inspections during production, address minor technical issues, and collaborate with design and customer service teams to adhere to deadlines. The role requires adherence to safety guidelines and maintaining an organized work environment to ensure smooth production workflow.
Qualifications
- Proficient in digital printing operations, specifically with Printing and Inkjet systems.
- Practical experience within print production and printer maintenance in commercial printing settings.
- Familiarity with finishing processes including cutting, folding, and binding.
- Basic knowledge of print file prep and use of design or prepress software is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to conduct quality control and maintain consistent output standards.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict production schedules while working full time on-site.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills emphasizing safety in the workplace.
- Prior experience in print shops or manufacturing environments; vocational training or certifications in printing or graphic arts are preferred.
