Role Overview

The Digital Designer will be instrumental in crafting high-quality digital assets and experiences that bring Koala’s brand, products, and campaigns to life across websites and digital platforms. This role bridges strong visual design with motion graphics, AI-enhanced workflows, and practical web design, requiring versatility in website design, motion graphics, digital asset preparation, and light UI tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design visually appealing digital experiences including website pages, landing pages, product showcases, and campaign touchpoints for customers.
• Convert creative briefs, campaign needs, and content into clear and engaging digital layouts.
• Implement user-friendly web and e-commerce design principles such as hierarchy, content flow, responsive layouts, and strong calls to action.
• Create motion graphics, animations, and interactive content to support web pages and marketing initiatives.
• Prepare, optimize, resize, and export digital assets for web and various digital channels.
• Collaborate with photography, 3D renderings, and campaign imagery to produce polished creative materials.
• Utilize AI-assisted design tools and explore new creative technologies to enhance production efficiency and quality.
• Apply internal scripts and command-line tools as part of asset preparation workflows.
• Design simple UI components working within established design systems and maintain responsive design compatibility across devices.
• Partner closely with UX/UI designers, developers, marketing teams, and 3D artists to ensure seamless delivery.
• Support design implementation through reviews, quality assurance of assets, and resolving visual issues.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while upholding high standards of design craftsmanship.
• Contribute to the evolution of digital production standards, processes, and workflows at Koala.

Preferred Background

• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in digital, visual, web, or motion design.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital campaigns and customer-facing experiences.
• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite or comparable design software.
• Experience designing responsive websites suitable for mobile and desktop platforms.
• Skilled in motion graphics and animation using After Effects or similar tools.
• Strong image editing, compositing, and digital asset optimization skills for online use.
• Familiarity working with photography, product imagery, 3D renders, and campaign materials.
• Good grasp of typography, layout, visual hierarchy, and storytelling in design.
• Understanding of web asset formats, resolution, compression, and responsive imagery strategies.
• Comfortable experimenting with emerging creative tools and AI-assisted workflows.
• Ability to operate terminal environments and execute documented command-line scripts (coding not required).
• Basic knowledge of responsive web design, HTML, CSS, and component-based patterns is advantageous.
• Experience with established design systems and e-commerce or fast-paced retail digital environments is preferred.
