Diesel Mechanic

About the Role

Tranzit Group, a leader in New Zealand's transport sector with a century-long legacy, is currently inviting applications for two experienced Diesel Mechanics to join their workshop team located in Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt. Primarily focused on diesel vehicles within the Hutt Valley fleet, there is also the scope to engage with emerging electric vehicle technologies as the fleet evolves.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance servicing and minor repairs to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy.
• Prepare vehicles for Certificate of Fitness (COF) inspections.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently.
• Maintain adherence to stringent safety and quality standards in all work performed.

Candidate Profile

• Certified Diesel Mechanic with over five years of hands-on experience, ideally in the road transport industry.
• Strong capabilities in mechanical diagnostics and repairs.
• Dependable team member who communicates effectively.
• Possession of a full New Zealand driver’s license, with Class 2 or higher preferred.
