DevOps Engineer - You build it, you run it! (m/w/d)

Role Overview

As a DevOps Engineer, you will drive innovation and continuous advancement in software development and delivery processes. Your work supports seamless collaboration across international teams and spans the entire software delivery lifecycle from concept to production deployment.

Location & Work Hours

Based in Aachen with additional office locations in Bamberg, Berlin, Dresden, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich-North, Munich-South, and Stuttgart. This is a full-time onsite position with a hybrid work model allowing up to 60% remote work after probation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work closely with international teams across multiple mgm sites.
• Manage the full software delivery workflow, from initial concepts to released products in production.
• Design, establish, and enhance build and deployment pipelines.
• Create and administer artifact repositories.
• Develop and maintain modern logging and monitoring solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve issues during staging and production environments.
• Support migration and development of applications within cloud environments.
• Collaborate tightly with software development teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong passion for DevOps tasks, software development, and IT trends.
• Formal education through university or vocational training, preferably accompanied by relevant work experience.
• Fluent in German and proficient in English.
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with DevOps principles.
• Experience in packaging, developing, and deploying applications using Java or JavaScript.
• Proficient with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub, and Git.
• Basic experience in software development and scripting on Linux platforms.

Desirable Additional Experience

• Working knowledge of build tools like Gradle, Maven, npm, and Webpack.
• Experience with artifact repository management tools such as Nexus and Artifactory.
• Database administration competence in PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Practical exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Skills in configuration management tools such as Ansible and Puppet.
• Experience with modern monitoring and logging setups like ELK/Loki and Grafana/Prometheus.
