Job description
Role Overview
The DevOps & Application Engineer will be responsible for managing the existing Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Single Sign-On (SSO) applications to ensure their reliability, scalability, and security on StarHub's cloud-native platforms. The position requires overseeing daily operations aligned with business requirements and contributing to the future deployment of the IAM platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the current IAM and SSO systems.
- Administer the platform ensuring high availability and system robustness.
- Coordinate with application vendors to deliver prompt and dependable support for business activities.
- Resolve service incidents and monitor service level agreements across all levels.
- Collaborate with vendors on change management, bug fixes, and security vulnerability mitigation.
- Engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to uphold system security compliance.
- Set up observability tools including Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and manage incident response workflows through platforms like PagerDuty.
- Create technical documentation and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
- Provide after-hours support on a rotational basis to meet operational requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years combined experience in systems analysis, DevOps, cloud services or operational support, preferably within telecommunications.
- Proficient with IAM concepts such as Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), identity lifecycle management, and protocols including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, LDAP.
- Hands-on experience implementing or supporting IAM integrations for enterprise or digital platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail and aptitude for diagnosing complex technical issues.
- Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in programming languages, particularly Java.
- Solid knowledge of AWS core services, IAM security, and best practices for cost optimization.
- Comfortable working with Linux internals, networking fundamentals, and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and REST/SOAP APIs is advantageous; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Experience within IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and using enterprise tools such as Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
- Hands-on expertise with Symantec SiteMinder and Symantec Directory technologies.
- Understanding of identity-related security threats and controls.
- Experience automating routine tasks through scripting or tool usage.
- Proven ability to support internal audits and compliance processes.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
