Job Overview and Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to design and maintain a secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS. This role involves close collaboration with software engineering teams to define infrastructure needs and deployment processes.
- Design and manage AWS cloud infrastructure ensuring security and scalability.
- Work with development teams to establish infrastructure and deployment requirements.
- Provision, configure, and maintain AWS environments using code-based infrastructure management.
- Manage configuration compliance via configuration management tools.
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems and across various services.
- Create and upkeep operational tools for deployment, system monitoring, and AWS infrastructure analysis.
- Analyze infrastructure costs and implement optimization strategies.
- Develop and maintain deployment-related tools, solutions, and microservices to uphold customer service quality and reduce errors.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- 3 to 6 years of practical experience in UNIX shell and Python scripting for DevOps automation.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with core AWS services, including VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, EKS, CloudFront, S3, CloudFormation, and Lambda.
- Well-versed in securing AWS environments and ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Proficient in deploying and managing infrastructure via Terraform.
- Strong foundational knowledge in networking principles and Linux system administration.
- Experience with Docker containers, GitHub version control, Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, and deploying applications on AWS using CloudFormation.
- Ability and willingness to adopt various open-source tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Ansible.
- Proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership and bias for action.
Additional Technical Competencies
- Programming proficiency in Python.
- Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, as well as relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with Amazon RDS, Redis, AWS Aurora, and EC2 services is a plus.
