Job description
About the Role
ICICI Prudential Life Insurance's Agency Channel focuses on recruiting, training, and managing insurance advisors to drive business growth. The Development Manager, also known as Agency Manager or Unit Manager, serves as a salaried employee responsible for recruiting new insurance advisors and overseeing their performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Recruit new insurance advisors by explaining the benefits and facilitating their onboarding and licensing process.
- Provide thorough training on insurance products, sales strategies, and customer interactions.
- Motivate and guide advisors to meet monthly sales targets by generating new business leads.
- Support advisors in identifying potential customers and converting leads into policies.
- Manage customer relationships by ensuring appropriate insurance solutions and addressing queries or service issues.
- Maintain compliance by monitoring advisor performance, submitting regular business reports, and adhering to company and regulatory standards.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary package varies based on designation, experience, and location. Components can include a fixed monthly salary, sales incentives, travel and mobile allowances, medical benefits, and annual bonuses. Not all benefits are guaranteed; specifics depend on the official offer.
Monthly Targets and Work Environment
Monthly objectives typically involve recruiting and activating advisors, achieving insurance premium sales, and maintaining service quality. This role entails a mix of office responsibilities—such as team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions—and field activities—including recruiting and client visits with advisors.
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduation in any discipline.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Interest and aptitude in sales and business development.
- Ability to manage, recruit, and motivate teams effectively.
- Willingness to travel locally for fieldwork.
Career Outlook
This position offers opportunities to develop leadership and sales capabilities, earn incentives alongside a fixed salary, and experience career advancement based on performance. However, it also entails challenges like meeting periodic sales targets, sourcing competent advisors, and balancing field and office duties.
Distinction Between Roles
Unlike Insurance Advisors who focus on selling policies and usually earn commission without a fixed salary, Development Managers are salaried employees responsible for team recruitment, management, and achieving collective sales targets.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
