About The Opportunity
We are seeking a knowledgeable planner eager to contribute significantly to the development of thriving communities as part of a skilled team in the Mid North Coast region. This role involves engaging in some of the continent's crucial projects, offering expert planning guidance, and collaborating effectively with developers, government bodies, and community stakeholders to ensure high-standard planning outcomes that foster sustainable growth. Additionally, there is an opportunity to mentor and assist fellow planning professionals within a supportive and high-achieving team.
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for performing development assessment duties for the Council and related tasks.
Role Responsibilities
- Evaluate and decide on a diverse range of Development Applications, spanning from simple to complex, in alignment with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and applicable regulations, ensuring fairness and equity.
- Handle general inquiries and participate in the Council's Duty Planner rotation roster.
- Engage actively in comprehensive pre-lodgement and Development Assessment Panel discussions.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving business procedures.
- Deliver a Development Assessment Service characterized by promptness, reliability, professionalism, and customer-centricity.
- Collaborate closely with various government agencies.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have recent and relevant experience in conducting development assessments within a local government framework. A strong command of pertinent legislation, along with proven abilities in stakeholder interaction and effective communication, is essential.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring 35 hours per week. The salary range starts from $101,015 up to $113,067 (excluding superannuation), with a superannuation contribution of 12%. Performance-based salary increments are achievable upon meeting designated goals. The role may include benefits such as a Leaseback or Vehicle allowance in addition to the base salary.
