Design Manager - Structural and Civil Engineering

Job Overview

Join WSP's Middle East team in Riyadh as a Design Manager focused on Structural and Civil Engineering to lead the design and execution of major development projects within an expanding real estate developer portfolio. This role involves oversight of structural and civil engineering design efforts ensuring comprehensive coordination and alignment with project goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering consultants specializing in structural and civil works, ensuring timely and quality design submissions.
• Critically evaluate engineering documentation including reports, calculations, drawings, and other technical materials.
• Manage coordination among diverse project components such as buildings, infrastructure systems, utilities, and public realm areas.
• Ensure all designs follow the relevant standards, codes, and specific project criteria.
• Engage in design evaluations, risk assessments, and value engineering sessions to optimize project outcomes.
• Oversee the performance and schedule adherence of external consultants.
• Provide technical input and guidance throughout the design phases.
• Facilitate collaboration across various engineering disciplines within multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to tender evaluations and lend support during construction phases as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• At least 15 years of experience relevant to structural and civil design management.
• Proven involvement with large-scale mixed-use developments including residential, commercial, or hospitality projects.
• Deep knowledge of structural systems, integration with infrastructure, and effective design coordination practices.
