Job description

About Sweet Projects and Role Overview

Sweet Project Construction Limited (SPCL) specializes in providing comprehensive design, construction and engineering solutions across the data, defense, and energy sectors. With extensive expertise spanning over four decades, our services encompass everything from site acquisition and architectural design to refurbishment and client handover. We focus on delivering tailored, expert solutions rather than standard projects.

This position will be primarily stationed at the Alliance Park development in Acton, where two hyperscale data centers along with related office, substation, and infrastructure works are underway. The Design Coordinator role involves overseeing the management and timing of design documentation throughout the project timeline to ensure smooth delivery and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the flow of design information, including receipt, review, and distribution to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive design registers, trackers, and other pertinent project documentation.
  • Assist with administering the Common Data Environment (CDE) to streamline document control.
  • Support liaison efforts between consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams for design alignment.
  • Monitor design deliverables relative to schedules and participate in design review meetings, capturing key decisions and action points.
  • Track all design outputs against Information Required Schedules and Delivery Plans, alerting management to any delays or risks.
  • Facilitate compliance by supporting management of design approvals, technical submissions, and planning paperwork, ensuring records are maintained per company protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal groups, external designers, and contractors to collect and disseminate relevant design information.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree, HNC, or equivalent credential in construction, design, engineering, or allied disciplines.
  • Professional industry experience may substitute formal education requirements.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body is preferred.
  • Proven experience within construction, engineering, or design environments with understanding of design workflows and deliverables.
  • Working knowledge of Building Regulations and construction documentation standards.
  • Experience with information coordination and document management is essential.
  • Familiarity with project management solutions or common data environment platforms is advantageous.

Success Criteria

  • Accurate updating and maintenance of design registers and trackers.
  • Timely and disciplined distribution of design information.
  • Adherence to established design delivery schedules.
  • Comprehensive and well-maintained design records and documentation.
  • Positive feedback and satisfaction from stakeholders on coordination efforts.
