Primary Responsibilities
- Manage Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) processes for interior restraint components such as seat belts, airbags, and steering wheels.
- Create Bills of Materials (BOM) and oversee release of components through Change Notices (CNs).
- Finalize CAD designs prior to step releases; conduct packaging and clearance analyses to ensure parts comply with specifications relative to surrounding components.
- Collaborate with the CAE team to validate component performance against targets and system functional requirements.
- Oversee design approval, TKO sign-off procedures, and ensure deadlines align with project schedules.
- Lead development efforts with cross-functional teams and suppliers to fulfill Market Requirement Documents (MRD) for parts and assemblies.
- Provide on-site build support at manufacturing plants and supplier locations during part development phases.
- Manage design and process validations alongside homologation coordination.
- Conduct design releases, change management, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Between 4 to 6 years of hands-on product design and development experience with seat belts, airbags, and steering wheels.
- Proficient in component and system level design and development.
- Experienced with 3D modeling and surfacing using UG (Unigraphics) or CATIA software and familiar with Ennovia for PLM.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly feasibility assessments.
- Experience working with international Tier 1 suppliers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
