Ryanair, Europe's largest airline group with a 40-year legacy, is expanding rapidly with plans to operate over 800 aircraft and serve 300 million guests in the next eight years. As part of this growth, we are establishing our very first Engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility—a cutting-edge, state-of-the-art engine shop designed to overhaul and test more than 200 CFM56 and LEAP-1B engines annually.

We are seeking a Deputy General Manager to join us at the Engineering Headquarters in Dublin during the project's initial phases, later transitioning to the operational MRO facility. This leadership position is pivotal in building, shaping, and driving the culture and processes of this flagship engine shop under the guidance of the Head of Engine MRO and General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead a new team dedicated to engine MRO operations.
• Define and foster the operational culture and process framework for the engine shop.
• Oversee the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair, and cleaning of 200+ engines annually, maintaining efficiency and budget control.
• Promote a core management focus on safety, operational efficiency, and ongoing improvements.
• Implement innovative technologies and processes to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Manage procurement activities including parts, tooling, and supplier relations.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements.
• Lead manpower planning, recruitment management, and workforce forecasting across MRO staff.
• Perform additional duties related to the development and evolution of the MRO facility.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in engine MRO, preferably with leadership responsibilities.
• Excellent people management and project management capabilities.
• Strong passion for upholding safety, quality standards, and operational efficiency.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering impactful results at scale.
• Unrestricted rights to live and travel freely within Europe.
