Job description
Position Summary
This role involves preparing ingredients by segmenting, chopping, and properly storing them for cooking. Responsibilities include washing and peeling fresh produce, weighing and mixing ingredients, and cooking food following recipes and quality standards. The role also requires cooking cold dishes and using kitchen appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers efficiently. Testing food to ensure proper cooking, maintaining food quality, setting up and breaking down the workstation, and plating food accurately are key tasks. Additionally, cleaning and disinfecting kitchen areas, tools, and equipment, along with verifying appliance and food temperatures, are essential duties.
Additional Responsibilities
Adherence to company safety and security protocols is mandatory, including reporting hazards and incidents, completing safety training, and maintaining personal hygiene and a professional appearance. Protecting proprietary information and company assets is required. Effective and professional communication, fostering positive team relationships, supporting team objectives, and responding appropriately to colleague concerns are vital. The role demands physical stamina to stand, sit, or walk throughout shifts, including movements such as bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and other physical tasks. Other duties may be assigned by supervisors as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Minimum one year of related work experience
- No supervisory experience required
