Job description
Position Overview
The Demi Chef de Partie role involves preparing specialized dishes and substitute items while managing cooking equipment temperatures such as ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Responsibilities include thawing frozen food properly, ensuring correct portion sizes and presentation with garnishes, keeping food logs, and monitoring the quality and quantity of prepared meals. Communication during peak periods and coordination with chefs and Food & Beverage staff about daily specials and stock status is essential. Cold food preparation and adherence to recipe specifications and presentation standards are required.
Additional Duties
This position supports management in staff-related activities including assisting with recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching. The employee acts as a role model and ensures compliance with all safety and security protocols, reporting hazards or incidents to management. Maintaining a professional appearance, confidentiality, and the protection of company property is mandatory. The role also involves anticipating guest needs, maintaining positive interpersonal relationships, supporting team goals, and adhering to quality standards.
Physical Requirements
The job entails prolonged standing, sitting, or walking and requires physical movements such as reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The role involves lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 25 pounds unaided. Other reasonable tasks may be assigned by supervisors as needed.
Qualifications
- Technical, trade, or vocational school degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years related culinary experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No specific licenses or certifications necessary.
