Position Overview
Due to significant business growth, the company is expanding its Purchasing Team and seeking a skilled Demand Planner. This role offers an excellent chance for a motivated individual to join a dynamic and fast-growing Purchasing Department based at the headquarters in Santry, Dublin. The Demand Planner will play a pivotal role in enhancing demand planning and forecasting processes, bridging commercial and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the third-party demand planning software, serving as the primary user and maintaining trustworthy outputs for the purchasing team.
- Engage in forecast review and validation cycles, deliver transparent reporting on forecast precision, and contribute significantly to strengthening Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) procedures.
- Refine sales forecasts for current product lines by gathering, verifying, and analyzing relevant data to boost forecasting accuracy and service levels.
- Lead analyses of out-of-stock situations and root causes to reduce potential lost sales.
- Identify inventory risks and opportunities ahead of time, collaborating with Purchasing, Operations, and Sales to provide practical recommendations.
- Manage forecast implications for product phase-ins and phase-outs, updating demand planning tools to reflect changes involving obsolete and newly introduced items.
- Act as a liaison between purchasing and sales teams by translating commercial insights into forecast modifications within the demand planning system.
- Collaborate closely with Operations and Sales teams to optimize inventory targets in third-party logistics (3PL) environments.
- Work as part of a skilled and growing Purchasing department.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree or higher qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in demand planning and contributing to S&OP processes.
- Strong knowledge of forecasting tools and methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reporting platforms such as Power BI.
- Experience using SQL-based ERP systems.
- Proactive mindset with excellent communication abilities, comfortable interfacing with senior business stakeholders.
- Highly detail-oriented with a systematic, process-focused approach.
- Collaborative team player eager to learn about company products, systems, and customers.
