Role Overview
The Delivery Driver is entrusted with transporting goods, parcels, documents, or products to customers and designated drop-off points while prioritizing safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include ensuring prompt deliveries, careful handling of items, accurate record-keeping, and maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with customers.
Core Responsibilities
- Transport and deliver goods and packages safely.
- Adhere to scheduled delivery times, routes, and instructions.
- Carefully load and unload goods to avoid damage.
- Confirm delivery details such as order quantities, addresses, and customer information.
- Obtain proof of delivery through signatures or electronic confirmation.
- Maintain precise delivery records including mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle documentation.
- Communicate effectively with customers about delivery schedules and issues.
- Address customer questions and resolve delivery-related concerns professionally.
- Inspect vehicles before and after use, reporting any maintenance or safety problems.
- Keep the delivery vehicle organized, clean, and in good working order.
- Follow all traffic laws and company driving policies.
- Utilize GPS and navigation tools to optimize delivery routes.
- Report any delays, accidents, damaged goods, or unsuccessful deliveries promptly.
- Coordinate efforts with warehouse, logistics, dispatch, and customer service teams.
- Uphold high standards for safety, timeliness, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a valid UAE driving license for the relevant vehicle category.
- Experience in delivery driving, courier services, or similar roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of UAE roadways, routes, and key locations is a plus.
- A clean driving record and understanding of traffic regulations.
- Competency in navigation and managing time effectively.
- Strong skills in customer service and communication.
- Capability to handle goods safely during transport.
- Basic familiarity with vehicle inspection and maintenance tasks.
- Experience with GPS devices, delivery apps, and mobile technology.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and under time constraints.
- Physical fitness to assist with loading and unloading goods.
