Role Overview
This full-time position located in Windhoek involves assisting delivery drivers by loading and unloading vehicles, securing goods, and ensuring correct delivery to customers and branches. Daily responsibilities include managing packages, sorting and organizing stock, and safely moving items within warehouse and delivery zones. The role may require operating material handling equipment subject to proper training and authorization, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area. Collaboration with drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors is fundamental to follow schedules, uphold safety protocols, and deliver courteous customer service.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Capable of performing safe unloading and basic stock sorting.
- Prior experience or training in forklift or other material handling equipment operation is advantageous.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including stock handling and proper storage methods.
- Willingness to undertake safety, equipment use, and procedural training.
- Physical fitness to lift and carry heavy items and remain on feet for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality to meet delivery timelines.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading delivery notes and stock counting.
- Ability to follow instructions, collaborate effectively in a team, and communicate clearly with coworkers and customers.
- Experience in delivery, logistics, or warehouse work is beneficial.
