Role Summary

As a Deli Clerk, you will slice, package, weigh, and sell various deli products such as meats and cheeses, ensuring attractive displays and cleanliness of deli areas. You will assist members at the deli counter and help maintain a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service by assisting members, answering questions, and taking special orders.
• Operate slicing equipment, weighing scales, and handle deli products according to company standards.
• Receive, inspect, stock, and rotate deli inventory adhering to food safety and freshness protocols.
• Regularly check product dates and follow salvage procedures for outdated items.
• Clean and sanitize deli machinery, utensils, and display cases consistently.
• Maintain accurate signage, competitive displays, and a clean work area at all times.
• Collaborate with the team to uphold club standards and provide a safe and inclusive environment.
• Handle other assigned tasks and assist other departments as needed.
• Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality as essential job functions.

Qualifications

• Previous deli department experience is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with operating manual or power slicers and scales is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of deli products is beneficial.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Working Conditions

• Expect frequent movement on hard surfaces including bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting up to 30 pounds, occasionally with assistance for heavier loads.
• Work indoors with exposure to temperature variations from freezers and ovens, and contact with cleaning chemicals.

Compensation

Estimated wage range for this position is $17.75 to $21.75 per hour, subject to factors such as location, experience, and qualifications.
