Job description
Position Overview
The Deli Bakery Team Lead supports leadership efforts within the Fresh departments by addressing inquiries and issues, coaching team members, and ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed efficiently. The role emphasizes delivering outstanding customer service while managing department activities and assisting on the sales floor as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Greet customers courteously and assist them by recommending products, helping locate items, resolving concerns, and directing unresolved issues appropriately.
- Coordinate task assignments based on priorities set by the Fresh Coach and Store Management, delegating and following up on daily Customer Availability activities.
- Evaluate the overall presentation and cleanliness of the Fresh Departments, identify issues, and implement merchandising adjustments as necessary.
- Lead effective team communication by conducting daily Team Huddles at shift start to provide updates, establish objectives, and monitor team productivity.
- Collaborate with the People Lead to review schedules and assign team members to ensure coverage and task completion across all store areas.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs with the Coach and associates to spot training needs and deliver ongoing coaching and constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to company policies, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are hazard-free.
- Perform administrative tasks within GTA/Workday systems to support store management functions.
- Work alongside the Coach and People Lead to guide performance management conversations, foster growth opportunities, and assist with recruitment and hiring of new team members.
Additional Information
The starting hourly wage for this position is $19.75 CAD.
Locations are based at 9701-78 ST, Peace River, AB T8S 0A3, Canada.
