Deli Bakery Team Associate

Position Overview

The Deli Bakery Team Associate plays a vital role in delivering outstanding customer experiences by embodying Walmart's core values. This role is responsible for maintaining neat and well-organized Bakery and/or Deli sections, assisting with merchandise stocking, and facilitating sales within these departments.

Key Duties

• Organize and zone the department ensuring product shelves, tables, and storage areas are tidy and products are placed in their correct locations.
• Regularly rotate stock and monitor for expired items to maintain quality and safety.
• Ensure merchandise is accurately labeled, priced, and signed to aid customer purchases.
• Follow strict protocols related to cold chain management, including calibrating thermometers, recording temperatures, handling food safely, and adhering to product rotation and expiration guidelines.
• Process orders for deli items, prepare hot food merchandise, and provide assistance as requested by customers.
• Prepare deli items using utensils and equipment, including cooking chicken in rotisserie ovens and replenishing prepared side dishes in display cases.
• Follow precise thawing and baking procedures to prepare bakery goods such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls, preserving product quality and appearance.
• Execute proper procedures for ordering, clearance sales, markups and markdowns, and labeling including signing, flagging, and pricing of products.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.70.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
