Deli Associate

Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience and develop capabilities in the retail sector. The role involves delivering excellent customer service aligned with Walmart's core principles, maintaining and organizing the deli section, and supporting inventory management and sales.

Primary Duties

• Maintain order and presentation in the deli area through effective zoning.
• Manage stock by rotating items and monitoring expiration dates closely.
• Ensure all deli merchandise is correctly priced and clearly labeled.
• Follow strict guidelines related to cold chain protocols, equipment calibration, temperature logs, food safety, product rotation, and sell-by information.
• Take customer orders and prepare deli products such as sliced meats, cheeses, fried chicken, plus provide assistance as needed.
• Support front-end staff with price verification tasks.
• Use slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and other utensils to prepare deli foods and specialty customer orders, including salads and side dishes for display.
• Keep the work environment tidy, clean, and free from hazards or clutter.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.20 CAD.
