Deli Associate

Overview

Working as a Deli Associate at Walmart Canada provides a valuable opportunity to grow skills within the retail sector. Primary Responsibilities

• Organize and zone the deli department effectively.
• Monitor stock quality by rotating inventory and checking for expired products.
• Ensure all merchandise is displayed with correct pricing and signage.
• Comply with internal standards related to cold chain management, including thermometer calibration, temperature documentation, food handling, product rotation, and monitoring sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take customer orders for deli products and prepare items such as sliced meat, cheese, and fried chicken, providing support as requested.
• Assist front-end team with price verification tasks.
• Prepare deli food orders using slicers, stackers, and other tools; cook chicken using rotisserie ovens and deep fryers; replenish prepared salads and side dishes in display areas; fulfill specialty customer orders when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the deli section, ensuring it is free of unnecessary debris, foreign objects, liquids, and fixtures.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.45.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
