Deli Associate

Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in retail customer service. The role involves providing outstanding customer support by upholding Walmart’s core values and maintaining the deli section. Responsibilities include organizing the deli area, assisting with inventory management, and supporting sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain organization and zoning of the deli department.
• Manage stock rotation and inspect for expired products.
• Ensure items are clearly labeled and priced accurately.
• Comply with protocols for cold chain, thermometer calibration, temperature documentation, food safety handling, product rotation, and monitoring sell-by and expiration dates.
• Process orders for deli merchandise; slice and prepare items such as meats, cheese, and fried chicken, and assist customers as needed.
• Support front-end team with price verification requests.
• Prepare deli orders including slicing meats and cheeses using slicers and other tools; cook chicken using rotisserie ovens and deep fryers; assemble salads and side dishes for display and customer orders.
• Keep the deli area tidy, well-organized, and free from debris, foreign objects, and spills.

Compensation

The starting wage for this role is $17.20 per hour.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 16 years of age.
