Position Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your expertise in retail and customer service. This role involves delivering outstanding service while upholding Walmart's core values, managing deli department organization, and supporting stock maintenance and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and zoning the deli area effectively.
- Regularly rotating stock and inspecting for expired items to ensure freshness.
- Making sure all merchandise is accurately labeled and priced.
- Complying with standards related to cold chain handling, thermometer calibration, temperature logging, proper food handling, product rotation, and monitoring sell-by and expiration dates.
- Taking and preparing orders which include slicing meat and cheese, frying chicken, and assisting customers with their needs.
- Supporting front-end staff by assisting with price checks.
- Using equipment such as slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers to prepare deli foods, and filling salads and side dishes for display or customer orders.
- Keeping the deli area clean, organized, and free from debris, unwanted objects, and spills.
Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this position is $15.80.
