Deli Associate

About the Role

As a Deli Associate at Walmart Canada, you will gain valuable experience in retail while delivering outstanding customer service. This role involves maintaining the deli department in line with Walmart's foundational values, assisting with merchandising, ensuring food safety, and helping customers with their orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and zone the deli department to ensure an organized presentation.
• Regularly rotate stock and check for expired products to comply with safety standards.
• Ensure all merchandises are accurately priced and clearly signed.
• Follow strict guidelines regarding cold chain management, thermometer calibration, temperature monitoring, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiry compliance.
• Receive and fulfill orders for deli products, involving slicing and preparation of items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken.
• Assist front-end associates with price verifications as needed.
• Prepare deli food orders using equipment such as slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers; fill salads and side dishes for display or customer orders.
• Keep the deli work area clean, tidy, and free from any hazards including debris or foreign objects.

Compensation

The position starts at a minimum wage of $18.35 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old or older.
