Deburring Technician

Overview

The Deburring Technician will independently perform removal of sharp edges, burrs, and surface imperfections from metal components and weldments, adhering to specific tolerances and quality benchmarks. This role involves employing various deburring methods such as manual and powered tools, vibratory tumbling, and grit blasting. The technician ensures that all parts comply with engineering specifications and quality standards once deburring processes are completed.

Key Responsibilities

• Eliminate burrs and sharp edges on metal parts and assemblies using hand tools, power tools, and machinery to meet required tolerances.
• Operate and maintain equipment including grinders, sanders, buffers, vibratory tumblers, and grit blasting machines.
• Clean components appropriately to remove contaminants and apply corrosion protection when specified.
• Buff and polish parts to achieve the required surface finish and aesthetic.
• Interpret engineering blueprints and specifications to guide workmanship and uphold quality.
• Follow verbal, written, and electronic work instructions thoroughly to complete assigned tasks.
• Document daily production and record relevant manufacturing data as necessary.
• Adhere to safety protocols rigorously, using proper protective equipment and proactively addressing potential hazards.
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Zero to one year of related experience typically expected.
• Mechanical aptitude for handling hand tools and shop machinery to assemble, install, fabricate, and rework metal aircraft components.
• Manual dexterity sufficient for detailed assembly work.
• Effective problem-solving skills to analyze issues, inquire as needed, and lead structured approaches to determine root causes and corrective solutions.
• Strong communication skills for clear verbal and written information exchange across organizational levels.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and troubleshoot quality issues accurately.
• Teamwork capability, balancing collaborative and individual responsibilities with a positive, open attitude.
• Commitment to organizational goals, adherence to policies, safety and security compliance, and participation in continuous improvement programs such as 6S.
• Professional demeanor including tact, respect, responsibility, and integrity.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, with adherence to scheduling and proper use of timekeeping protocols.
• Dependability in following management directives and completing assignments timely; willingness to work additional hours as needed.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is between USD 16.18 and USD 24.27 per hour.
