Database AIOps Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Join our Database Autonomy Service (DAS) team as an AI Infrastructure Engineer, where you'll create and implement AI-powered operational features to enhance database reliability, performance, and security at scale. This role sits at the convergence of distributed database systems, extensive operations tooling, and practical AI applications, driving innovation in autonomous database management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy features for DAS covering anomaly detection, root cause analysis, performance optimization, and security measures across multiple database engines including PolarDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB.
• Lead the AI-driven evolution of DAS by investigating AI Agent technologies and constructing automation agents that support and increasingly automate routine database operations.
• Manage feature lifecycles comprehensively by handling on-call duties, resolving critical tickets, triaging bugs, diagnosing incidents, improving customer experience, and optimizing both performance and costs.

Job Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• At least two years of backend engineering experience related to databases, AI applications, agentic systems, operations platforms, or similar infrastructure products.
• Demonstrated capability to lead design and development of core system modules or architectures, delivering reliable and high-quality software.
• Strong skills in cross-functional collaboration, proven by successful cooperation with upstream and downstream teams to establish roadmaps and achieve common objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with popular database systems and associated operational tasks such as monitoring, diagnostics, high availability, and backup/restore solutions.
• Experience working with AIOps solutions, LLM-based agents, or autonomous systems in production scenarios.
• Contributions to open-source projects or academic/publication records related to databases, AI, or system software.
