Database Administrator

About the Role

We seek a meticulous and skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our technology team located in Riyadh. This role involves ensuring the availability, performance, security, and integrity of the company's databases, while supporting dependable data operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor both production and non-production database environments.
• Guarantee database availability, optimal performance, security, and reliability.
• Handle database installations, configurations, upgrades, patching, and routine upkeep.
• Assess and analyze database performance to identify optimization and capacity enhancement opportunities.
• Design, implement, and regularly test backup and recovery procedures.
• Monitor database health indicators, including storage usage and resource consumption.
• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Enforce database security protocols, access controls, and manage user permissions appropriately.
• Support implementations of database replication, high availability, and disaster recovery plans where necessary.
• Collaborate closely with Software Engineering, IT, Information Security, and other departments to support applications and data requirements.
• Assist developers with query tuning, database schema design, indexing strategies, and performance improvements.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation on database configurations, processes, backup policies, and operations.
• Contribute to data migration, integration, and other database-related projects as required.
• Ensure database operations align with internal policies, security standards, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Between 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in database administration or related roles.
• Experience working within financial services, fintech, banking, lending, or other regulated sectors.
• Robust knowledge of database management principles, administration, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Expertise in performance tuning and optimization for databases, including query and indexing optimization.
• Practical experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Familiarity with database security, access management, and ensuring data integrity.
• Strong command of SQL and relational database systems.
• Acquainted with database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis tools.
• Knowledge of high-availability architectures and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience or familiarity with cloud database environments.
• Relevant database certifications are advantageous.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Capability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
• Demonstrates high integrity, flexibility, proactive attitude, and a strong sense of ownership.
