Database Administrator (MongoDB)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator specializing in MongoDB to join our team in Singapore. This full-time onsite role involves managing database systems to ensure high uptime, security, and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain database software along with associated technologies.
• Continuously monitor database systems to optimize performance and ensure reliability and availability.
• Design and implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
• Diagnose and resolve database problems including thorough root cause analysis.
• Develop and enforce data security protocols, maintain compliance with data protection laws, and manage access controls.
• Collaborate with developers to design efficient database schemas and ensure scalability and performance.
• Maintain database documentation and adhere to standards for database development and administration.
• Manage database user roles and permissions prudently while conducting upgrades and patches to maintain stability.
• Implement and manage replication and clustering configurations to support high availability.
• Analyze and optimize queries and indexes, identify bottlenecks, and execute tuning strategies to enhance system performance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Extensive knowledge of database management systems such as SQL Server and Oracle.
• A deep understanding of data security practices and compliance requirements.
• Proven communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Hands-on experience improving product performance via database schema changes, data partitioning, tuning, and configuration.
• Practical experience in configuring and maintaining failover mechanisms like clustering and mirroring, including disaster recovery procedures for critical systems.
• Familiarity with maintaining and optimizing MongoDB systems is advantageous.
• Strong expertise in SSRS report development and SSIS/ETL processes.
• Relevant professional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate are considered beneficial.
